Northbound: Florida to New Jersey freight

New Jersey is where much of the Northeast's freight waits between the port and the store shelf. From South Florida the run is about 1,200 to 1,280 miles, depending on the Jersey end: I-95 north through Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia and Maryland, across the Delaware Memorial Bridge and up the New Jersey Turnpike. Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville pickups join the same corridor with fewer miles.

A solo, HOS-compliant driver logs the run on the ELD, so typical transit is 2 to 3 days from pickup to delivery. Freight stays in one box the whole way, with no terminal handoffs in between.

New Jersey freight areas we serve

Most loads land in a few clusters. The Exit 8A area around Cranbury, Monroe and South Brunswick is one of the densest warehouse districts on the East Coast. The Meadowlands, from Secaucus to Carlstadt and Kearny, serves North Jersey and New York City. Port Newark–Elizabeth anchors the import side, with distribution and transload buildings all around it, and the Edison and I-287 corridor fills in between.

  • Distribution centers usually receive by appointment: send the appointment number with the tender
  • Port-area buildings often have strict gate and check-in procedures; tell us the receiving hours
  • No dock at a smaller receiver? The hydraulic liftgate handles the street-level unload
  • On the Turnpike a 26 ft box truck is a Class 2 vehicle, and it stays off the Garden State Parkway north of Exit 105

Southbound: New Jersey to Florida trucking

The return leg matters as much as the headhaul. Our trucks are based in Miami, so after a northbound delivery they head home, and southbound capacity out of New Jersey is worth asking about. We pick up at Jersey warehouses and port-area buildings and deliver across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, or to Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville on the way down.

Spot loads or a dedicated lane

Delivering inside New York City instead? See Miami to New York freight for borough deliveries, or New York to Miami freight for the trip south. Headed to Philadelphia or the Lehigh Valley? See Florida–Pennsylvania. A few pallets ride as a partial truckload. If your freight runs this corridor every week, set it up as one of our dedicated lanes for brokers. For how we plan long hauls, see interstate box truck freight. To price a load now, send ZIPs, dates and pallet details on the quote form.

Frequently asked questions

How long does freight take from Florida to New Jersey?

Typical transit from South Florida to New Jersey is 2 to 3 days. The run is about 1,200 to 1,280 miles on I-95 and the New Jersey Turnpike, driven by a solo driver under hours-of-service rules. Pickup time, traffic through the Northeast and the delivery appointment decide the exact timing, and we give you a realistic estimate when we quote.

Do you deliver to Exit 8A and Meadowlands warehouses?

Yes. We deliver to distribution centers around Exit 8A in Cranbury, Monroe and South Brunswick, to the Meadowlands from Secaucus to Kearny, and to buildings around Port Newark–Elizabeth and Edison. Most of these receive by appointment, so send the appointment number and receiving hours with the tender and we plan the arrival around them.

Can you pick up in New Jersey for delivery in Florida?

Yes. New Jersey to Florida trucking is the southbound half of this corridor. Because our trucks are based in Miami, southbound space out of New Jersey is often available after northbound deliveries. Send the pickup address, the loading window and the Florida delivery ZIP, and dispatch will confirm space and a rate.

Should my New Jersey delivery ride this corridor or the Miami to New York lane?

Use this corridor when the receiver is a New Jersey warehouse or distribution center, such as Exit 8A, the Meadowlands, Port Newark–Elizabeth or Edison. If the freight goes into the five boroughs, Long Island or Westchester, quote it on our Miami to New York lane, which covers city delivery rules. Either way, send both ZIPs, dates and pallet details, and dispatch confirms the rate.
